TITLE: Multimedia Communications Assistant
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a general knowledge and ability to use video cameras, digital SLR cameras, graphic design software, and non-linear editing software. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal), including the ability to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including night and weekend hours. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Cloud (including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro) and social media platforms. Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism broadcast production, digital media, marketing, public relations, or a related field, or any equivalent combination of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

REPORTS TO: Associate Superintendent for Communications and Community Engagement
JOB GOAL: To create high-quality multimedia projects (e.g., videos, graphic designs, etc.) as required by the school system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gathers and coordinates news coverage, including shooting video, writing, voicing, editing and distribution of digital media content on multiple platforms including the web, mobile applications, social media, and broadcast/cablecast productions.
Creates collateral materials for use in print, digital, mobile, audio/visual, and broadcast formats.
Supports the development and design of CCS’ brand across print, television, social media, mobile applications, web formats, and emerging technologies.
Produces video and graphic design projects that support system-wide goals and the efforts of the Communication & Community Engagement Department for television, CCS website and the public education channel.
Writes copy to accompany multimedia projects intended for various platforms, e.g., website, social media, newsletter, etc.
Produces video promotion pieces for school marketing purposes.
Provides photography services as needed.
Assists and advises others with video related projects and issues.
Assist with video and other needs for event related activities for system-wide events, graduation, Teacher of the Year and Administrator of the Year.

Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
Must be able to lift and move at least 30 lbs of weight.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required.
Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
