QUALIFICATIONS:
North Carolina licensure as a Principal/School Administrator
(MSA Candidates currently completing internship may also apply, however, to be considered candidates must be completing the 2nd semester of their internship. A letter must be provided from MSA Program Chair verifying current enrollment in internship with an estimated graduation date.)
REPORTS TO: Principal and Associate Superintendent of School Support
JOB GOAL: To serve as a member of the administrative team to develop and implement the total school program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with implementation of student orientation and registration activities.
- Assists in the development and establishing of the school goals and objectives and the planning of the school’s instructional program.
- Assists to provide direction to staff in implementing goals and objectives and interacts and meets with staff to assist in their development.
- Assists in the evaluation of the school program and of staff and assists to initiate needed improvements.
- Involves the staff in setting budget priorities.
- Acts to upgrade own professional knowledge and skills.
- Assists in the preparation and management of budget and schedules and in the coordination and implementation of the co-curricular program.
- Assists to define and disseminate information about school discipline, policy, and procedures to parents, students, staff, and community.
- Communicates and carries out established policies, delegates, and accepts responsibility for completion of tasks and communicates program goals, objectives, and policies to the community.
- Assists in supervising and maintaining auxiliary services and uses community resources to supplement the school program.
- Promotes and maintains open communications, positive student attitudes, respects the dignity and worth of staff, students, and parents, and complies with established lines of authority.
- Assists in completion of records and in the supervision and inventory of necessary supplies, textbooks, equipment, and materials.
- Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer-driven, and valuing diversity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
