TITLE:                     Prime Time Group Leader

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum of 18 years of age and a high school graduate.  Experience with school age children preferred.  Meet the minimum qualifications established by the Cumberland County Board of Education.

                                                                       

REPORTS TO:          Site Director

                                               

JOB GOAL:              To assist the Site Director with the implementation of the before and after school program through planning and organizing, evaluating and developing activities, preparing materials, and keeping accurate records.  Works cooperatively with the Site Director to fulfill children’s curriculum for the program.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Assists the Site Director with the implementation of the Prime Time program through planning, organizing, evaluating developing and preparing materials for the program.

 

Works cooperatively with school personnel.

 

Assists the Site Director in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children.

 

Teaches assigned activities in a well thought out and prepared manner.

 

Makes sure the materials and equipment for each activity are ready at the start of that activity and returned to the cabinet upon completion of said activity.  A knowledge of the game or activity is part of this responsibility.

 

Communicates effectively with students, parents, peers, school personnel and Prime Time

administrative office staff.

 

Maintains a good rapport with parents, children, and staff.

 

Contributes positively to the mission and goals of the Prime Time program.

 

Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance.

 

Follows established policies concerning tardiness, absences, annual leave, sick leave, and dress codes.

 

Assists their Site Director in maintaining a clean work area.

 

Organizes his/her schedule to work a minimum of one day per week for the morning program if needed and three mornings per week if placed at a morning work location.

Works cooperatively with the Site Director to plan curriculum for the students.

 

Possesses knowledge of the number of children in the assigned site program at all times.

 

Continuously engages with children.

 

Works independently in supervision and teaching of children in assigned group.

 

Follows all DCDEE rules and regulations, Prime Time policies and regulations, and the Cumberland County Schools’ policies and employee handbook.

 

Contributes positively to the mission and goals of the Prime Time program.

 

Serves as a team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer-driven, and valuing diversity.

 

Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.

 

Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.

 

Must possess auditory acuity at a level to hear telephone conversations, customer questions and concerns, and supervisor-vocalized instructions.

 

Must possess visual acuity to read and analyze iPad screens, documents, and correspondence.

 

Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

 

Must have reliable transportation.

 

Must be proficient in using an iPad.

 

Must maintain a valid telephone number and keep the Prime Time office informed of any updates to telephone number changes.
